| Richard 111 and a Stormtropper , spot the difference.
A
MODEL of Richard III which features at a multi-million pound exhibition has
today been blasted for looking like a STORMTROOPER from Star Wars.
Experts
said a re-creation of the former King's armour was "grotesque" and
made him look an Imperial soldier from George Lucas's iconic sci-fi movies.
The
model, which is mainly white like a stormtrooper, is on display at the
£4million Richard III Visitor Centre which opened in Leicester over the
weekend.
Annette
Carson, who is part of the Looking for Richard Project, said her team were
"saddened and profoundly disappointed" by the exhibition.
Ms
Carson wrote online: "Other
grotesque exhibits include the white-painted depiction of the king's armour
resembling a Storm Trooper from Star Wars, despite representatives of the
council and university having attended the presentation by Dr Tobias Capwell in
March 2013 where he described his armour and illustrated its actual probable
appearance.
"As
an example of the organisers' taste in these matters, it was only by strenuous
insistence that we removed the planned visual which was to greet visitors: the
central throne was to be drenched in a sickening pool of blood which dropped
down to form words written in blood on the floor below."
Comment:
When
I first saw this photo, I assumed it
was the new Star Wars film, how wrong
was that. Richard 111 needs to have a
more accurate armour, and this disgrace
needs to be passed onto JJ Abrams for Star Wars Episode V11.

Economic crisis which will hit independent Scotland will 'dwarf' 2008 crash, Treasury minister Danny Alexander warns Daily Mail.

Scotland will be plunged into a deeper
economic crisis than the 2008 crash if it breaks away from the UK, Danny
Alexander warned.
The Lib Dem Treasury minister said the
devastating financial collapse which took Royal Bank of Scotland to the brink
would be 'dwarfed' by the impact of independence.
It came amid claims Scotland will lose
its £300million-a-year share of the UK's EU rebate if it votes for separation.
The economic challenge an independent
Scotland would face were laid bare with a fresh warning about its
£300million-a-year share of the EU rebate.
Professor Carlos Closa of the European
University Institute in Florence said Alex Salmond has no right to the UK's
hard-won windfall.
The First Minister had claimed the rest
of the UK and a newly separate Scotland would share the rebate in the event of
independence.
But Professor Closa has become the
latest expert to dismiss the idea. 'There is no right to a rebate. It is just
something the UK has negotiated,' he said.
Gordon Brown has warned that losing the
rebate would cost the Scottish Government £20billion over seven years.
Clarkson 'must go' after racism ruling, Daily Express
Regulator Ofcom found the BBC breached the broadcasting
code when Clarkson used a derogatory term for people of Asian descent in a Top
Gear show filmed in Burma and screened in March.
Lawyers
for complainant Somi Guha, an Asian-born actress, said Clarkson should be
fired.
Lawrence
Davies, of law firm Equal Justice, yesterday said: “When it comes to racism,
Clarkson is a serial offender. He is already on a final written warning and
must be immediately disciplined.”
Three
months ago Clarkson was given a final warning by the BBC for apparently using
the “n-word” in unaired Top Gear footage.
Comment:
Although we all know that Jeremy Clarkson and his fellow
presenters, James May and Richard Hammond can say some stupid and ill-thought
out remakes, and due to unscrupulous lawyers
and people who believe that they should receive compensation for “ perceived “ insults will always take advantage hoping for
the big payout
Words for the Wise, The Christian's Status, We are Complete in Christ. Colossians 2
Colossians
2 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
You
Are Built Up in Christ
2
For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those
who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not [a]personally seen my face,
2 that their hearts may be encouraged,
having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth [b]that
comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge
of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this so that no one will delude
you with persuasive argument. 5 For even though I am absent in body,
nevertheless I am with you in spirit, rejoicing [c]to see [d]your good
discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ.
6 Therefore as you have
received Christ Jesus the Lord, so [e]walk in Him, 7 having been firmly rooted
and now being built up in Him and established [f]in your faith, just as you
were instructed, and overflowing [g]with gratitude.
8
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception,
according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of
the world, [h]rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in
Him you have been made [i]complete, and He is the head [j]over all rule
and authority; 11 and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision
made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision
of Christ; 12 having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also
raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the
dead. 13 When you were dead [k]in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of
your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our
transgressions, 14 having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of
decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the
way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 When He had [l]disarmed the rulers and
authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them
through [m]Him.
16
Therefore no one is to [n]act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in
respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath [o]day— 17 things which are a
mere shadow of what is to come; but the [p]substance [q]belongs to Christ. 18
Let no one keep [r]defrauding you of your prize by delighting in
[s]self-abasement and the worship of the angels, [t]taking his stand on visions
he has seen, [u]inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding
fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together
by the joints and [v]ligaments, grows with a growth [w]which is from God.
20
If you have died with Christ [x]to the elementary principles of the world, why,
as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as,
21 “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!” 22 (which all refer to things
destined to perish [y]with use)—in accordance with the commandments and
teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the
[z]appearance of wisdom in [aa]self-made religion and self-abasement and severe
treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.
Colossians
2
V
1–5: ENCOURAGED Paul wants to encourage the hearts both of the Colossians and
the Laodiceans so that each fellowship of Christians will increase in love to
one another, with assurance and understanding of God’s message. That assurance
concerns what God has done in Christ, and is the basis of all our wisdom and
knowledge. His ‘great conflict’ is his concern that they should not be deceived
by anybody. He encourages them by rejoicing at their good order and their
steadfast faith in the Lord Jesus
.
V 6–7: ESTABLISHED His desire is to see them established like a well-rooted
tree or a building with good foundations. As they have received Christ, so they
must walk in Him with faith and thanksgiving.
V
8–10: EMPTINESS People seeking to persuade them through worldly philosophy and
deceit are empty and have nothing to offer from this world. It is only in Jesus
Christ that all the Godhead dwells bodily and therefore it is only in Him that
each Christian is complete. Jesus is over all and more powerful than all.
V
11–19: EMANCIPATED Christ has put off the sins of those who trust in Him, by
spiritual circumcision. Baptism reminds them of a new life through death to the
old sinful life and benefiting from the eternal life given by the resurrected
Christ. There is no power in claiming that they must now keep to man-made
ordinances. They have been emancipated from that by the risen Christ. Thus
man-made laws are not to enslave them, whether in the form of dietary laws,
man-made festivals, or additional sabbath days. Any man-made system of worship,
including angel worship, comes from false humility and a proud mind. Our
freedom depends upon being under the headship of Christ, over the body of the
church. Each Christian is part of that body and takes his directions from
Christ.
V 20–23: EXHORTED Paul now exhorts the
Colossians to avoid legalistic man-made rules which will perish along with
every other man-made commandment and teaching. They may have an attraction of
organised religion, false humility, and abstaining from things, but can do
nothing to forgive sins or combat the inward pull of the old nature. Only
Christ can do that.
Yours in His Christ
Because of His Mercy

'Homes for votes deal in council election fix': Petition claims polling for mayor in London's Tower Hamlets was fraudulent. Daily Mail

Islamic voters allegedly told to be 'good

His supporters handed out lollipops to the
children of voters, it is claimed
Mr Rahman, serving a second term as borough
mayor, won by 3,000 votes
Voters were promised council houses if they re-elected their mayor, a
court heard yesterday.
Islamic sections of the electorate were told they should be ‘good
Muslims’ by voting for Mayor Lutfur Rahman, it was said.
In a further bid to win votes,
supporters of Mr Rahman allegedly handed out lollipops to the children of
voters in Tower Hamlets, East London.
A petition brought before the High
Court claims the re-election of the mayor in May was fraudulent ‘in a variety
of forms’.
It alleges that council officers were
bullied into ‘securing a certain number of votes’ and were threatened with the
sack if they refused.
His memoirs, serialised in the Mail, convulsed Westminster. Now Gordon Brown's spin doctor gives his withering verdict on the two Eds: Paranoid, confused, and their policies are a great, steaming pile of fudge Daily Mail

Damian McBride claims Miliband and Balls run
'dysfunctional' Labour Party
They're confused, lacking clear policies and
a target audience, he claims
Says Labour could win by treating election
like a Gordon Brown-era Budget
Just nine months before the next
General Election, the Labour Party has no positive messages to communicate to
anyone about why they should vote for them. It has no policies which will
persuade them, and no clear idea who its target audience is. And it’s being run
in a totally dysfunctional way.
So how do the two Eds - Miliband and
Balls - do it? How do they overcome historical precedent, a hostile media, a
sceptical public and a nervous Party, and return Labour to power in 2015?
To my mind, it’s simple: the two Eds
have to stop thinking of next year in terms of an election, and start thinking
of it like one of those Gordon Brown Budgets they used to work on together.
I cannot recall one
Labour policy announcement over the past year that performs those feats. Ed
Miliband’s measures - rent controls or an energy price freeze - are usually
populist enough but rarely stand up to scrutiny. Ed Balls’ announcements (such
as his national infrastructure commission) usually pass the FT test but go
entirely unnoticed in the pub.

Cancer patients undergoing life-saving chemotherapy are being targeted by ‘cowboy’ parking squads at NHS hospitals, it was claimed last night.
Rogue wardens working on hospital
grounds have allegedly been ordered to focus on cancer wards because patients
are likely to be distracted – and therefore late returning to their cars.
Hospitals were last night accused of
encouraging the ‘disgraceful’ tactic, with some trusts even taking a cut of up
to 10 per cent of the parking firms’ huge profits.
